Meet The Models: Andrew
I don’t put myself out there very often - and I know I should! I just don’t message folks looking to photograph that often because I’m afraid of being turned down. (What would really be great is to have someone to do this for me but until that happens I just have to get at it!) I need to take more of Nick’s advice! (More to come about Nick in my next entry!)
Anyway, I’m glad I put myself out there in this cause because I’ve gotten to shoot with Andrew twice now. He’s such a natural in front of the camera (and get a look at those legs in the Kapow Crimson Hex Meggings!) that I hope we can continue shooting for years to come. (I’m still a little disappointed he didn’t really answer the “Boxers or Briefs” question. I know the real answer, but it’s more fun if you decide. 🤣)

WHAT IS YOUR STORY? I’m a country singer and an aspiring entrepreneur. I moved to Nashville in late 2022 to pursue writing, producing, and an artist career…as well as some modeling! My favorite things to do outside of music are hiking (or anything outdoors!), any activity exploring fitness or nutrition, and reading (mostly non-fiction books about business and self-growth).

HOW DID YOU GET INTO MUSIC? Some of my earliest memories are listening to my dad play guitar and sing worship songs for my siblings and I. I would listen to him, watch people perform at school talent shows, listen to kids my age release CD’s…and I just knew that’s what I wanted to do. I bought my first guitar when I was 15, taught myself to play and produce, and then started releasing some original songs. Before the 2020 shutdown, I strictly made pop songs, but I had also loved country music since high school (after my grandpa would play it all summer!). During quarantine, I fell in love with the stripped-down, storytelling side of country music, and I just had to start writing country songs! Fast-forward to 2023, and I have my first album: “cowboys and lonely crowns”!
WHEN DO YOU FEEL MOST CONFIDENT? I think I feel most confident when I push the boundaries of what “most people do”. Whether that’s writing LGBT-themed lyrics in a conservative country genre, or maybe something as simple as picking up extra shifts at work to achieve financial goals instead of going to the bar Friday night like everyone else. (Or wearing Kapow meggings instead of jeans!) There’s just something exciting about doing things against “the normal” haha.
WHAT DO YOU HOPE YOUR NEXT GREAT ACHIEVEMENT WILL BE? My hopes and dreams involve being able to make my full-time living as an independent music artist. From there, I’d also love to branch out and make other LGBT+ related businesses and brands, pursue modelling, and, heck, maybe some acting too!
WHAT IS THE BRAVEST THING YOU’VE DONE? Moving to Nashville was definitely the bravest thing I’ve done. I didn’t have much money, I didn’t have a job lined up, I still wasn’t finished with my album…I didn’t even really have a plan! But I knew it was time to move. It’s begun to work out very well, but it was definitely a little rough there at first!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE MOST ABOUT MEGGINGS? HOW DO YOU SEE THEM FITTING INTO YOUR MUSIC CAREER? I think most (if not all) men who have tried meggings can agree that they are incredibly comfortable! I love wearing them after a long day at work, for lounging around the house, on my day off, and especially when I’m working out. I don’t see them as feminine or as something incredibly rebellious; like LGBT+ themes in the conservative country music genre, I just see meggings as an opportunity to explore other sides of men’s comfort and fashion most people haven’t yet or are too shy to see. Meggings are new, they’re fresh, and they’re different…and they look great, are so comfortable, and are NOT just for women! The guys I told to try wearing meggings now own their own pairs…and I’m trying to collect more for my own wardrobe! Meggings are just clothes that women having been wearing for years…men just haven’t gotten to until now!
WHAT IS AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE YOU’VE BEEN A PART OF? In college, I had the opportunity to study abroad and live in Rome for 4 months. All I did was learn ancient cultures, travel to 9 countries in Europe, eat great food, explore new fashion and music, and hike for months!
HOW DO YOU FEEL IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA? I hope this doesn’t sound vain haha, but I feel very calm and confident in front of a camera! I enjoy the challenge of being able to tell a story with your clothes and eyes. I enjoy the confidence wearing meggings gives too. (Especially in public where other people see that meggings are photo-worthy clothing!)
WHICH MALE CELEBRITY WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO SEE IN A PAIR OF KAPOW MEGGINGS? Honestly, I don’t have a preference! I think every male (celebrity or not) should give meggings a try for at least a day!
